I recently came across this post by Congressman Mike Johnson which talked about an Ad that appeared during the Florida State vs. LSU football game, on September the 4th. This Ad was for a new show featuring a female antichrist called “Little Demon.” It was run by the company FX, who is owned by the Walt Disney company. I would say I am surprised by that, but Disney has been falling away from any hint of biblical values for quite some time.
Now, when an Ad like this appears and reaches almost 6 million eyes on ABC alone, especially if you had kids watching the screen, well, you can’t unsee that. And when I read the synopsis and watched the trailer, I was thinking, “We are getting closer and closer to the rapture and the end of time.”
So, what is the “Little Demon” about? Well, this is the synopsis we are given according to Wikipedia:
“Thirteen years after being impregnated by Satan, a reluctant mother, Laura, and her Antichrist daughter, Chrissy, attempt to live an ordinary life in Delaware, but are constantly thwarted by monstrous forces, including Satan, who yearns for custody of his daughter’s soul.”
It Is Important What We Feed Our Heart and Mind
Now, I am not advocating or promoting that anyone watch this show, not even the trailer due to the needless graphics and nudity. Not to mention the rating of TV-MA. The show incorporates witchcraft and necromancy, and boldy calls someone the antichrist. Even twisting the biblical account of Jesus’s birth.
My goal is simply to bring an awareness of how much our world is becoming pagan and elevating the thoughts and works of Satan.
So, with that aside…
Allow me to you arm with some truth from the Scriptures. Even if you don’t watch it, we are still subjected to stuff like this in other areas. And unfortunately, we will continue to be inundated with things like this moving forward.
Jesus said that we have to live in the world, but we don’t have to be of the world (John 17:15-16).
“Be sober, and vigilant; because your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
1 Peter 5:8
And as our kids are exposed to things like this, it’s good to have solid, biblical answers to stand upon. Not just for ourselves, but especially for our kids. It is also important to know the basics of the Biblical worldview.
3 Comparisons about the Antichrist and the Show
So, here are some things I noticed in the trailer when I watched it.
Similar to Jesus’ own virgin birth in Luke 1-2, a young girl is impregnated by a spiritual being. In this case it is Satan. This is similar to the Holy Spirit coming upon Mary to conceive and give birth. This show, of course, seems to be portraying the opposite of Christ’s birth and His teachings.
1). The Christ is a female named, Chrissy, who seems to nonchalantly judge, exasperate, and/or kill her classmates who bully her. Juxtapose that with Jesus, who came not to judge the world (John 12:47). He came to heal people and to give eternal life in heaven to people who believe (John 3:16-17).
2). One of the main abodes spoken about in this show, is hell where the demons are. Jesus spoke of hell, but He did not describe it as a place where you want to go or even dream of enjoying. Hell is where Satan and the demons are to be tortured in an eternal fire forever.
On the flipside, Heaven is a place where God and the angels are. There will be no tears or pain in heaven (Revelation 21:4). It will be like how the Garden of Eden was suppose to be: humans and God in a right relationship along with working and enjoying what He gives us to do.
3). In the trailer, Satan said “the future looks feminine.” Now, I want to point out something very crucial as this theme of feminism plays out in the series.
Matthew 24 and the Book of Revelation
In Matthew 24 and in the book of Revelation, the Antichrist is said to be male.
Matthew 24 gives us the signs of Christ’s Return. It tells us that many false christs and prophets will come to mislead us. If we are looking for Jesus the Christ, who is a male; why would the antichrist be different? In Revelation 13-14, it speaks about the beasts of the sea and earth being male. Even the mark of the beast, is said to be given by a male (13:16-17).
The only thing that’s strange about the antichrist is that he will have no passion for women (Daniel 11:37). This could indicate that he is into homosexual relationships; or he doesn’t desire relationships since he is a lover of self. That still doesn’t change the fact that he is a male.
End Time Thoughts
I want to leave you with this. We are living in the end times, now, meaning the days of Christ’s return are drawing closer and closer. Ideas and imagery like this are going to keep coming up and become more perverse. As a Christian, to stand up for what I believe in which the Bible states is true, will be looked down upon. The truth will be ignored, and ultimately, it will lead to persecution for this faith.
So, stay strong brothers and sisters in Christ! We can be surrounded by evil and false notions about the Bible, but we don’t have to participate or promote the evil ways of the world. Keep reading and memorizing the truths that are in the Bible! Stand up for them and guide your families with them. The house that is built on the rock of the word of God, will stand; but the kingdoms built on sand and lies will crumble in the end.
